DAVE VERMILYE One Another Small Groups Leaders Training Facilitation: To make easier, to bring about; to take from one place to another. A facilitator is a person who can help make a group process easier and presents opportunities to bring about growth in individuals and in groups.(See Disambiguation) For some facilitation is truly an art form, it is beautiful to watch them work, however there are some basic principles that will allow most individuals to hone their skills and improve their abilities as a facilitator and as a participant in life. The participant will gain an understanding of: How to create a right environment for leading a group.
These skills will be useful for leading a One Another Small Group and any other group that you may be involved with. The vision of these groups is to provide a safe place where a smaller group of individuals can meet together regularly to have God’s truth meet life in such a way that Spiritual transformation takes place. Over the past few years we have seen nearly 100 people take part in a small group of some kind. There have been groups that focused on the biblical view of finances and debt reduction, some have chosen book studies, some have reviewed the Sunday morning message, others have focused on spiritual formation. We are currently looking for more people to take on the role of Small Group Facilitator. There is a desire to expand the scope of our small groups, so we need to train a few more people. If you are desirous of being a participant in a small group or interested in leading a small group, please send an e-mail to the church office with your name and phone number. |
